Are you interested in expanding your English conversation topics? In this video, I’ll share with you a simple, useful English conversation that you can use immediately to start learning English quickly and without overwhelm. Stay tuned.
Pitching your business services
S: Hello, Christopher. Thanks for coming today, I appreciate your time.
C: Hello Sara, it’s my pleasure.
S: Let’s start by learning more about your business Christopher. What do you do and what are your current challenges?
C: Okay. No problem. I am a Tailor and I design and produce custom suits for men. My current challenge is that we get lots of orders around wedding time, however, we have really quiet months where we need to make more sales.
S: I see. Can you tell me what you are currently doing to market your business? How do customers learn about you?
C: Word of mouth. Most of our customers are referrals from existing customers. We have a website and social media pages, however, we aren’t very active.
S: Do you sell any suits or products online?
C: No, we don’t. I wouldn’t even know where to start with that.
S: What would success for your business look like to you Christopher? Explain to me, the ideal scenario.
C: Success would be having a constant flow of sales so I don’t have to worry about money all the time.
S: What have you tried in the past that worked?
C: In the past, we did some letterbox drops that offered a discount off a tailored suit. That was an expensive campaign and we didn’t get many sales from it.
S: What have you tried that has worked?
C: We have a referral program, where you earn points towards store credits for every paying customer you refer. Customers like that and tell their friends about it. We need more people to know about it.
S: Based off the information you provided, I think there are a few approaches to help you get more customers and more sales.
C: Let’s hear them.
S: Firstly, I would recommend that we update your social media pages and website with a modern design. This will help attract more customers than the current dated designs.
C: How much do you charge for social media design and website design?
S: We have different packages that will suit your budget. I have the list of prices to send to you after this call.
C: Ok, great.
S: Secondly, I would recommend that we create a Facebook advertising campaign to get more customers into your shop. We can target males within a radius of your store, who are engaged. They would be more likely to be looking for a suit.
C: Can you do that?
S: Yes, we can. The campaigns will be focused on increasing the number of new customers. Then we can integrate your referral program into the campaign also.
C: Sounds great. Will you include the price for that in your proposal?
S: Yes, I will. I believe that by updating your brand online and creating more local awareness of your store through regular advertising campaigns, we can help you achieve your goal of more consistent sales throughout the year.
C: How long will it take to get everything up and running?
S: Based off the campaigns and set up you require, we need between 2-4 weeks. I have included a timeline for you in the proposal as well.
C: Great. I will read through your proposal with my business manager and contact you if we have any questions.
S: Thank you, Christopher. I will give you a call in a couple of days to see what you think and answer any queries you may have.
